Alphonse de LAMARTINE mansion

Lamartine was a poet but he also was a great politician in the early nineteeth century. In 1820, he inherited this castle on marrying Mary Ann Birch. He initiated the restoration of Saint Point in English Neogothic style. Close by, you can visit the funeral chapel of the Lamartine family and the Norman church dating back to the twelth century.

Since 1802, the castle has belonged to the Lamartine family ans the current owners are his great nephews.
