PRISSE AND DAVAYE

If you walk across the plain bordering the Saône river up to the tops of the rocks of VERGISSON and SOLUTRE, you will encounter on east- west hillsides clay and alluvial soils dating back to the quaternary era. On this type of formations, wines are fruity and pleasing.
Powerful rich wines are grown halfway up the hills, on stonier soils which ensure a better drainage.
Up the hills, the vines planted on different types of limestones yield very fine wines that are well-known for their mineral and floral undertones.
