In thirty years, the area of the appellation has remained the same and has been regularly planted, but the winegrowers have expanded the vine growing capacity.

At the moment, the appellation is completely planted and the cru Saint Véran is close to its maximum level of production :

- from 10 to 12000 hectolitres -1.6 million bottles- in 1971
- to 40000 hectolitres -5.3 million bottles- in 2000.
